We were involved in a number of international projects during the 2009-10 Rotary year which include the following AND WE TOOK FIRST RUNNER-UP IN THIS CATEGORY
- Christmas Island - provided funding for toilets and hand-washing stations to four schools
- Kathmandu, Nepal - provided funding for a group of Nepalese leprosy sufferers who are training to climb Mt. Everest
- Philippines Disaster Relief - provided funding to D5000 to be sent for relief efforts
- Irusku, Russia - sponsor of Cat 2 Children's Shelter in conjuntion with OrphanAct
- Sister/Friendship club - as a result of a 3-year project in Ubud, Bali, continue communication and sharing of newsletters with the RC of Ubud
- GSE Team from Thailand - hosted the all-island GSE Team social for the team from Thailand. Attended by over 70 Rotarians and guests, hosted a Hawaiia luau complete with entertainment by Pohaikealoha Hula Halau
- GSE team from D5000 - one member is co-chair of the GSE Team Reception bringing over the D5000 young professionals to share in a Pau Hana reception and tell about their experiences in Thailand
- Meeting visitors - since we meet in the center of a tourist area we have welcomed international visitors from: Germany, England, Switzerland, Australia and many Canadian provinces
- A Hospitality Pineapple pin for the visiting Rotarian who has traveled the most distance to attend a make-up meeting.
