Five Avenues of Service - International Service

We were involved in a number of international projects during the 2010-11 Rotary year AND WE RECEIVED FIRST PLACE IN THIS DIVISION:

• Hosting club for the GSE Team from Egypt-Provided host homes for this four-member team and hosted an "All American Thanksgiving Dinner" for 70 Rotarians and guests to welcome the team to Maui.
• PIP Matching Grant for Dialysis Machine for Sisaket Hospital, Thailand
• Matching Grant partner for water well, medical van, and cataract surgeries in Nuh, Delhi, India
• Matching Grant partner for Literacy project providing books to 67 schools in Thailand
• Irusku, Russia - support Cat 2 orphanage in Russia under auspices of OrphanAct.
• Japan Relief funds - collected $2250 from personal contributions to be matched with D5000 funds to be sent to Sendai region of Japan for tsunami relief
• Meeting visitors - since we meet in the center of a tourist area we have welcomed international visitors from:  Germany, England, Switzerland, Australia and many Canadian provinces
• Our first annual commemorative coin is presented to the visitor who has travelled the most distance to attend a Rotary Club meeting.
