E komo mai! As President of the Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise for 2014-2015, I welcome you to our “Small, but Mighty” club on the sweeping Keawakapu Beach in Maui. Our many community projects lean in to serve the youth of Kihei with dictionary/almanacs, ethics activities, school supplies and dental hygiene lessons and reach into high school and college with our scholarship programs.
My personal goals for this year are to provide Hawaiian hospitality and gratitude, grow our membership while maintaining and strengthening our social and service connections among our members and other Rotary clubs. We are proud to have been named one of the top three small clubs in District 5000 (24 clubs) in seven of the last eight years and to have sponsored Maui’s tenth and newest club in Lahaina. This is only possible with a dedicated-to-service group of men and women who pull together and bring their talents and treasure to our projects. Fun is the fifth addition to our 4-Way Test and the Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise knows how to enjoy the blessings of friendship and the beauty of Maui.
We cordially invite you to share aloha with us at our weekly meetings or our Pau Hana gatherings, tell your Rotary colleagues of your experiences with us, and return often to our Maui.
A hui hou!
Joanne M. Doell
