VOCATIONAL SERVICE is a fun category for us because we love taking Vocational tours all around the island of Maui. Listed below are the projects and activities that we did during the 2010-11 Rotary year AND WE RECEIVED FIRST PLACE IN THIS DIVISION:
- Club Program featuring 4-Way Test with description of the Andy & Elmer Ethics & 4-Way Test activity with 2nd graders
- Vocational and "Did You Know?" talks by our new members
- Vocational Tours of Four Maui Businesses: Kaheawa Wildmill Farm, HC&S Sugar Cane fields and mill tour, Tour de Trash, and US Coast Guard Station
- Employee Recognition of the staff of The Five Palms Resturant
- Youth Mentoring Program - "Andy and Elmer Apple Dumpling Adventure" - 3 lessons based on the 4-Way test presented to 2nd graders at two Kihei elementary schools
- Individual Vocational Service Award to Kimokeo Kapahualehua for his work as a Hawaiian Cultural advisor.
- Community Vocational Service Award to Read Aloud America/Maui for outstanding service in promoting family literacy to Maui's families.
- Vocational Scholarship to a graduate of Kihei Charter High School
